15 Positive Weight Loss Affirmations To Help You Reduce Weight

positive affirmations

Permanent weight loss or weight control requires a change in lifestyle. The affirmations given here will help you to slowly but surely change your lifestyle. Make intelligent and regular use of the positive affirmations for weight loss given below. In most cases, weight loss or weight control is a direct function of our lifestyle.

In other words, the food we eat, the frequency of eating, the way of eating, the physical exertions that we undergo, the rest we take, the mental attitude that we maintain, all over a long period of time - in fact over our complete lifetime - determines our weight and/or our weight problems. Use a suitable weight loss affirmation given below to help with your problem.

Most diets work only as long as you work the diet! The moment dieting stops, all the weight that has been lost slowly starts coming back. This only means that unless you change your lifestyle, you will again have weight problems. Positive affirmations for weight loss will help you change your lifestyle.

It has been found that our body maintains the weight that our mind is comfortable with. If, for some reason, the mind finds it necessary, then the body will start accumulating weight and very soon will find itself overweight. For example, during childhood, if you found it helpful to be “big bodied” for reasons of security, then your subconscious mind will take it upon itself to make you big and then to maintain your bigness. Weight gained in this way is difficult to remove if the mind is not dealt with first. In such cases, no form of dieting will ever help. For real weight loss, it is necessary to change our thinking. You have to make your mind comfortable with the new weight you desire. Weight loss affirmations will help you in this task.

Sometimes, obesity is due to some glandular malfunction. In such cases, diets or affirmations won’t work. You have to undergo medical treatment for the same. If you are grossly overweight, then consult your physician for any glandular problems before starting a diet or affirmations.

Be careful of the wording of the affirmation. Never say “I am not fat”, because in this case you are focusing on your problem, i.e. being fat. And whatever you focus on, grows. Focus on the solution. So say “I am slim” or “I am losing weight daily and getting slimmer and slimmer.”

If you are a determined person, then repeating the following affirmations over and over, at least a hundred times daily, preferably in front of a mirror, for a period of at least six months, will slowly but surely help you look at and live a different life, one that is more fitter than fatter. As always, combine two or more of these free affirmations for weight loss, or even write your own healthy weight loss affirmations, taking a cue from the following.

WEIGHT LOSS AFFIRMATIONS
  • I weigh _____ pounds/kg.
  • Every day in every way I am approaching my ideal weight.
  • I love being physically fit and I lose enough weight so that I am at my ideal weight.
  • My metabolism is at its optimum and it helps me in reaching my ideal weight.
  • I love eating healthy food and it helps me reach my ideal weight.
  • I love exercising daily and it helps me reach my ideal weight.
  • I am a physically active person and that helps me reach my ideal weight.
  • Every day in every way I am getting slimmer and fitter.
  • I properly chew all the food that I eat so that it gets digested properly and that helps me in reaching my ideal weight.
  • I breathe deeply every time so that my metabolism is at its perfect rate.
  • I love myself unconditionally.
  • Life is beautiful and I enjoy life by staying fit and maintaining my ideal weight.
  • Every physical movement that I make burns the extra fat in my body and helps me to maintain my ideal body weight.
  • Every cell in my body is healthy and fit and so am I.
  • I easily control my weight through a combination of healthy eating and exercising.

It is a good idea to combine these affirmations with right eating affirmations. Be sure to repeat these affirmations at least a hundred times daily, preferably in front of a mirror. A still better idea is to repeat the affirmations in installments of ten every hour, if you can find the time, chance and place to do it. This method keeps reminding the subconscious mind again and again and the resultant change is faster.

Can I Lose Weight And Have A Social Life?

3 Tips for Making Healthy Choices in Social Settingsby Katrina Love Senn

As someone who has lost over 60 pounds and kept it off for over 12 years now, today I feel very blessed to work with people all over the world helping them to achieve their weight loss goals, without dieting or deprivation.

As a weight loss expert, one of the most common questions I get asked is, “What should I eat and drink when I’m out at social events?”
  • Is this something that you struggle with too?
  • Would you like to know how you can still be social, and lose weight at the same time?
  • Have you ever wondered what you should do when you attend a work function or family gathering?
If so, then in this article, are my 3 top tips to help you lose weight naturally, even whilst attending numerous parties, work events and family gatherings.

Tip #1: Mental Preparation.
At social events, it is important to mentally prepare yourself beforehand, so that once you are at the event, you can stay focused on achieving your health goals. As someone who is on a health mission, you may have very different priorities than most people at the party. Once there, remind yourself of this frequently!

Before the event, and whilst you are there, mentally ‘coach yourself.’ Reconnect back to your ‘bigger’ goals: remind yourself what you most desire.

  • You want to get strong
  • You want to lose weight
  • You want to feel healthy
  • You want to heal your body
  • You want to get your body back into balance
  • You want to feel good again

  • If you mentally prepare yourself beforehand, making empowering healthy choices will be easy. Even better, you will leave the party feeling proud of yourself.

Tip #2: Think Addition, Not Deprivation.

Adopt the mindset of addition, never deprivation…

Deprivation is the old-school way of losing weight. Plus, as Jon Gabriel and I share, it just doesn’t work over the long term (it can even do more harm than good!). As you start adding nutritious foods and drinks that nourish your body, it makes sense to also substitute real foods for fake foods wherever possible.

At social events, you will most likely come face to face with your ‘nemesis’ food; whatever that might be for you:

    nemesis food
    • Cookies
    • Cake
    • Fluffy white bread, margarine
    • Crisps and chips
    • Burger and chips
    • Cheesy pizzas
    • Cocktail sausages
    • Artificial fizzy drinks…
The list of fake ‘party’ foods goes on… But remember, these are man-made foods, they are not real food.

Remind yourself that your beautiful body does not even recognize these ingredients. They are not food you want to eat or put in your body. Eating these foods will certainly not help you lose weight. Eating these foods can make you gain weight…

Instead, try adding these real foods into your body…

    real-foods
    • Juicy watermelon chunks
    • Juicy pineapple chunks
    • Platter of Veggie dippers
    • Guacamole, hummous and dips
    • Big colourful salads
    • Mixture of different grilled vegetables, flavoured with tasty dressings, herbs and lemon juice
    • Grated carrot or beetroot
    • Grilled fish, grilled chicken or grilled zucchini
    • Stuffed red peppers
    • Grilled tomatoes
    • Chocolate mousse made with avocado and coconut
If you know that you are going to a family gathering where the food/drinks are not healthy, if possible, take your own!
Who knows, you might even inspire your friends to eat real food as well!
Add into your life – including your social life- foods that your body knows and recognizes.
Most importantly, keep choosing foods that will help you effortlessly achieve your health and weight loss dreams.

Tip #3: Healthy Alternatives to Alcohol

    drink-recipes

At social events, instead of not drinking at all, try delicious non-alcoholic drink alternatives made from real food. Besides the damaging and dehydrating effects of drinking too much alcohol, it negatively influences your decision-making process, which will make it more challenging to stay committed to your health goals!

Along with alcohol, substitute any ‘juice’ from a box or can, even if they say ‘natural’. These kind of juices and drinks are very disruptive to your body’s delicate internal chemistry, and disastrous for your weight and waistline.

They are made with high corn fructose syrup or refined sugars, along with artificial additives, colourings, flavourings and preservatives. They are made in a science lab and are a chemical concoction that is horrendous and damaging for your immune system, your brain, and your digestive system.

Here is an easy way to substitute these fizzy, sugary or alcoholic drinks for healthier alternatives instead
Start with the most gorgeous glass jug you can find. ¾ fill it with mineral, still or soda water. Add in generous amounts of freshly squeezed lemon, lime, pineapple, or orange juice. Then add in chunks of cucumber, pineapple or melon. Lemon and lime wedges are great too if desired.
Other ideas are pomegranate seeds, cherry halves, pieces of strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries… Let your imagination play!
Finish your drink with sprigs of fresh basil or mint. Drink immediately or leave to infuse.
Serve in beautiful cocktail glasses of your choice.
    drinks

These drinks looks amazing when served and are a party winner every time. They are very refreshing, especially when you squeeze the wedges to flavor it with fresh lemon or lime juice. Simply delicious!

If you are at a restaurant or bar, try ordering a large mineral water served with a generous wedge of lemon or lime in a tall glass.

Ask if they have any fresh non-alcholic alternatives. Perhaps a fresh berry smoothie. Or could they do you a freshly squeezed apple and ginger juice. Or a refreshing cucumber and mint juice in a tall glass with a straw. YUM!

If the places you currently frequent don’t serve these types of drinks, maybe it’s time for you to start looking for cafes, bars and restaurants that do serve healthy options…

Yes… You Can Lose Weight and Still Be Social

Losing weight is about taking charge of your life. Make the decision to go after your health and weight loss dreams and you can attend any party under the sun and still not want to put fake food in your body.

Create the mindset for success and use the power of substitution to make healthy choices for yourself.
Eating real food is an active act of self-love and nourishing yourself from within.

Have fun with substituting and adding in healthy foods to your life.
Play and experiment with different ideas and food choices and over time, you’ll learn how to find healthy foods and drinks that are far superior to fake ones that truly align with your health goals.
And remember, you can do this.

    * On a side-note, many people drink alcohol to deal with ‘social anxiety’. If social anxiety is a problem for you, I suggest you check out other healing modalities such as emotional freedom technique (EFT) or tapping.

I hope that you find this blog post helpful on your healing journey…

How To Lose 5 Pounds In 2 Days

“How to lose 5 pounds in 2 days”, now that is something you have probably seen countless times  on magazines or book covers, and I am sure it sells many copies. Almost anyone would jump at the chance to lose 5 pounds in 2 days, but is that actually possible, or just a clever trick to sell magazines?

Surprisingly it is actually doable for most individuals, as you can technically lose 5 pounds in 2 days, but only around one pound of it will be fat. The rest will come from water weight, which will help you look slimmer, but it may come back just as fast as it disappeared. Our bodies are estimated to be made up of around 60% water and the amount of water  we are carrying constantly changes depending on what we eat, drink and our physical activity.

How to lose 5 pounds in 2 days

Therefore, some people will be able to drop 5 pounds off the scale in 2 days, but you need to understand that this will not work the same for everyone. Some people may not be holding a lot of water weight and may only lose 1 or 2 pounds, while some people may actually lose more than 5. The amount of weight you could losein 2 days is mostly going to depend on the amount of water you are holding at this time. This is why below I have included a helpful list of tips to help you drop water weight.

    Consume More Natural Diuretics
A Diuretic is something that will help your body remove excess liquids better by making you urinate more.  Foods that are considered Diuretics are normally high in water content themselves, such as lettuce, watermelon, cucumbers, and tomatoes. Caffeine is also a diuretic, therefore any drink containing caffeine could help, such as coffee, tea or energy drinks. However, do not primarily rely on caffeine as a diuretic as drinks using it are commonly high in sugar.
